Question #105 From: James
My 1-year-old mixed-breed rescue dog is normally well-behaved, except when we go out and leave him alone. Then he gets "angry" and destroys something, such as a pair of shoes. What can I do to prevent this destructive behavior? Should I leave him crated?

Question #106 From: Jill
My dog Alex is very sweet and sometimes a little shy with humans, but he's very aggressive around other dogs. I can't even take him near other dogs, because he'll try to attack them. He's a rescue dog -- a husky-shepherd mix, about 6 years old, who was found wandering in a field and had been abused. I got him when he was about 2. What can I do about his dog-aggressive behavior? Other than that, he's a wonderful pet

Question #107 From: Richard
I have a 2-year-old West Highland White Terrier male who is a very lovable dog except when he is in the car with us. If anyone approaches the car while we are in it he goes nuts and attacks the window. I don't know if he would bite them or not. It is very embarrassing when he scares people as they pass the car. Can anything be done to stop this behavior. I know he is a terrier doing a terrier thing but I would like to curb his behavior. Thank you

Question #109 From: Lori
We have rescued a 10 month old boston terrier. He is very submission - extremely laid back for a boston - and lovable. When we confine him to the crate (he is never in there more than 2 - 3 hours) he urinates all over his self, the crate and any toys we have provided for him. How can we solve this problem?
It is a small crate - just big enough for him to stand and turn around in. He goes out prior to entering the crate. He urinates in the crate if he is left there for only 1/2 hour. Help.

Question #110 From: J. Drew
I have a Boston Terrier who will be a year old in August. We have had a terrible time potty training him. He poops and pees in his kennel on a regular basis, and for such an intelligent dog shouldn't he be trained by now? Thanks

Question #111 From: T.L. Bubonovich
I have a male 7 month old redbone coonhound dog (that came from the humane society). He is very "mouthy", I have tried everything to get him to stop nipping every part of our families body. The only people that he allows in the house is our family. He will not allow any one else in. He jumps, barks, bites, growls. No one can come in! Also, when he is in the back yard...He will growl, bite and pull at my pants...It is like a hunt and kill mode (he only does this out side). He is terrific with my small 5 year old female dog and my 12 year old cat. I can take food out of his mouth no problems. But I am afraid to let him out side...there are many small children in our neighborhood.
I am ready to take him back to the pound...but my son loves him. How do I tame this alpha dog.

Question #112 From: Jaclyn
I have 2 yorkshire terrier dogs. The older one is smaller and the younger one is bigger. The younger one has attacked it 2 times-viciously grabs the smaller one by the neck and swings it around. Its jaws lock and will not let go. Yet most of the time they are fine together. What can we do to ensure that the bigger one will not do it again? Any ideas?

Question #114 From: Marita
My Portuguese Water dog is one and a half years old. She has gone to the same groomer her whole life. At her last appointment I was told that she needed to be muzzled. The groomer did not seem to be to concerned and said it was due to her age. "teenager" The last two time I brought her in I asked to have her muzzle shaved rather than trimmed. Could that change have caused her to be more aggressive? Should I find a new groomer? Any suggestions on how to proceed with be great. I have a 2 year old daughter and I am concerned.

Question #115 From: Robin
I found a stray 1 week ago. He was sitting in the street like he didn't know were to go, so I took him home. He apears to be no more than 4 or 5 months old so I couldn't drop him off at the pound, he's just a baby. No one has claimed him and his collar was starting to cut into his neck.
Any way I have a slight problem, until I find him a home, I have four dogs of my own very happy playful and very gentle with the puppy however they seem to be afraid to play anymore because of the puppy. One of my dogs doesn't like to stay in the living room anymore when that was his place before the pup. They also try to avoid him and I know it's because of his sharp teeth, but it must be something else also. What can I do to make them more comfortable while he's here or at least stop him from biting them????

Question #116 From: Bobbie
Help..I have an 8 month old boxer that we have had for about 5 months. She is very nice and enjoyable with people. But, she often attacks my 6 year old mini dachshund over things like food and toys. They have plenty of toys but if the dachshund is playing with one toy, the boxer tries to take it away from her. She wasn't like this until she got comfortable with living in our house. She is also aggressive with other dogs that enter the house but isn't aggressive when I take her for a walk and meets another dog. How can I save my little dachshund from getting hurt???
